Leser wiesen mich daraufhin, dass Mobipocket ja zu Amazon gehört und richtig: 2005 übernahm Amazon-Gründer Jeff Bezos “für ‘n Appel und ‘n Ei” alle Mobipocket-Aktien des eBook-Verlegers Franklin. Die Webseite von Mobipocket – einem beliebten Anbieter von eBooks für die Westentasche – ist seit gestern nicht erreichbar. Dies kam unerwartet (es kam keine Maintenance-Vorwarnung obwohl man sonst mit Werbemails zugeschüttet wird) aber nicht überraschend, denn für Mobipocket sind “Kundenservice” und “Zuverlässigkeit” seit langem Fremdwörter.
