Zusammenfassung
Die Deutsche Bibliotheksstatistik (DBS, http://www.bibliotheksstatistik.de) wird seit dem Berichtsjahr 1974 erstellt, wobei die Erfassung, Auswertung und Präsentation der Ergebnisse seit 1999 ausschließlich online erfolgen. Ziel der DBS ist die Schaffung eines nationalen Datenpools für statistische Informationen zu allen Bibliothekssparten. Ca. 9000 Bibliotheken melden jährlich ihre Werte für die Bereiche Ausstattung, Bestand, Nutzung, Finanzen und Personal.
Das aktuelle Interview informiert über das Konzept der DBS, die unterschiedliche Ausprägung der DBS für Öffentliche Bibliotheken, für Wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken sowie Spezialbibliotheken. Ausführlich eingegangen wird auch auf das zunehmend wichtiger werdende Thema der Erfassung von statistischen Daten für die Bestände und die Nutzung der elektronischen Bibliothek. Angesprochen werden auch der Auswertungs- und Publikationsprozess der DBS, der Konnex zwischen DBS und BIX sowie die Möglichkeiten der internationalen Kooperation im Bereich der DBS.

Abstract
The DBS, Deutsche Bibliotheksstatistik (German Library Statistics, http://www.bibliotheksstatistik.de), reports since 1974. Around 9000 libraries file data on facilities, equipment, holdings, usage, budget and staff.
Data collection, evaluation, and presentation today are carried out online only. Aim of DBS is the formation of a national data pool containing statistical data on all types of libraries.
The interview informs about the concept of DBS and its differentation of public, university and specialised libraries. It covers at length the increasing important topic of data collection of holdings and usage in digital libraries. The DBS process of data evaluation and publication will be described and connections between DBS and the library benchmark index BIX will be explained. Finally international cooperation options for DBS will be discussed.
