Publishing has only two indispensable participants: authors and readers. As with music, any technology that brings these two groups closer makes the whole industry more efficient —but hurts those who benefit from the distance between them.

BTW: prop up ist ein interessantes Verb, das sich auch hervorragend zur Beschreibung des derzeitigen Freizeitverhaltens benutzen läßt 
“He spends most of his time proping up against Bar and TV” heißt z.B.: Er hängt die meiste Zeit an der Bar herum und schaut Fußball.
