[Thanks OAN] BioMed Central has started a blog, although it’s still in a pre-launch phase. Today, for example, BMC Publisher Matt Cockerill posted a note about the Brussels Conference, and included a link to his own presentation, Open Access publishing works.

Von den meisten wohl unbemerkt wurde heute vormittag der medinfo-Blog auf einen neuen Server kopiert. (Danke Oliver und Michael!) Gleichzeitig hat Edlef die neueste Wordpress Version 2.1 eingespielt. (Danke ebenfalls!) Ich arbeite nun noch einige Kleinigkeiten nach und werde versuchen, die verlorengegangenen Kommentare wieder einzustellen.

Die große Wogen verursachende Vereinbarung zwischen Börsenverein und Deutschen Bibliotheksverband wurde bereits in netbib heftig kommentiert, nun rudert das Urheberrechtsbündnis (zumindest in Teilen) in seiner Stellungsnahme vom 12.2. zurück. Jetzt ist es nicht mehr nur kontra-Wissenschaft, sondern auch einer Doppelstrategie geschuldet, zwischen einem eher kurzfristigen, politisch-pragmatischen Handeln (DBV) und einer eher langfristigen Zielverfolgung (Bündnis).
