Zur Zeit läuft eine entsprechende Umfrage in medlib-l und die Frage nach Alternativen. UpToDate versucht wohl zur Zeit, eine saftige Preiserhöhung wegen des neu aufgenommenen Fachgebiets Pädiatrie durchzudrücken, was mehreren US-Bibliotheken bereits sauer aufgestossen ist. Die Berechnung einer UpToDate Site Subscription fußt wohl auf dem so genannten Profitkompensationsmodell:

Nach dem European Heart Journal wechselt die European Society of Cardiology (ESC) nun auch mit der Publikation von Europace von Elsevier nach Oxford University Press, wie die ESC mitteilt. Archivrechte nimmt Europace mit, doch man (Institutionen!) kann sich bei OUP um perpetual access bewerben.

Nachdem die Beiträge von MEDIZIN - BIBLIOTHEK - INFORMATION bereits vollständig in der Datenbank CCMed (Current Contents Medizin deutscher und deutschsprachiger Zeitschriften) aufgenommen worden sind, werden sie nun auch in der Datenbank Deutsches Bibliothekswesen (DABI) erfasst.
