Elsevier signs deal with Dutch Universities

Yesterday, Elsevier announces the signing of a five-year agreement with the UKB for the provision of vital scientific and medical information to the 200,000-strong academic community in The Netherlands. The UKB is comprised of the Dutch Association of the thirteen University Libraries, the Royal Library and the Library of the Royal Dutch Academy of Science. The agreement provides all Dutch university undergraduates, graduate students, researchers, faculty and staff with complete access to full-text articles from over 2,000 journals, covering authoritative titles from the core scientific and medical literature including high impact factor titles such as The Lancet and Tetrahedron. The agreement also includes the archives of these journals on ScienceDirect, giving the universities access to all titles from their first issue onwards, in some cases back to the 19th century.
